more militarized. This was in reaction to Napoleon's growing empire and
his upsetting of the balance of power. Napoleon would wear his uniform
for even formal occasions. He did this so that his soldiers would see him

The 19th century saw a major fashion change from the mid to late 19th century. The early 19th century fashion was still heavily influenced by the 18th century style of coats and hats for the men and the overall style of dress. In the late 19th century emerged Victorian era style of dress. In their own subsect was the dress of the Sufferagettes who sometimes wear clothing that were traditionally men's.
